The New York Historical Society’s Tang Wing American Democracy, to which the Tangs donated $20 million, will open in 2026.. Oscar L. Tang is a philanthropist and retired financier. He was a founder and the chief executive of Reich and Tang, an investment management company in New York. He is on the board of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Until 2012, he was the president of the board of Phillips Academy in Andover, MA.
