Q: Trouble Sleeping?
Im having trouble sleeping.. any tips?
I forgot to add what was bothering me, apologies:
I’ve got to go to court tomorrow to fight for everything I own..
A: First, try and determine what is causing this problem. Having trouble sleeping can be caused from stress, too much caffeine late in the day, or medical problems such as restless leg syndrome. Once you can find the underlying cause of this problem you can work on the cause to better improve your sleeping patterns.
In general you should not drink caffeine more than 3 hours before you go to bed as this will cause you to stay awake. Also, a warm cup of chamomile tea works wonders. You can also try reading, the back and forth eye movement you practice when reading mimics the eye movement in REM sleep, causing you to feel sleepy.
Q: trouble sleeping . . . . . .?
I am having trouble sleeping. . . right now it is 6 in the morning and i have been up since 2 . . . can some1 help go back to sleep? i need sleeping techniques
A: I feel that you need to do some self analysis on your own or seek the help of a psychiatrist if you have long standing worries and phobias. If it is not the case probably you do not have enough physical exercises during the day. Even if you run or exercise for 30 minutes every day you should get some sleep. Try also do something which does not interest you during night. Reading books which doesn’t interest you or seeing a film which is a real bore.
Build up your will slowly with the auto suggestion feeling that
you will have a good sleep.
If these suggestions do not help you you should resort to medication with the help of a physician.
Q: Trouble sleeping?
I always have trouble sleeping, and i know it seems childish and stupid, but i feel very uncomfortable in the dark. No matter what hour, i’m restless. is there anything to take or to do to help me sleep?
A: Get a night light and try to use less caffeine, especially in the evening. Maybe exercise to burn some extra energy.
Q: trouble sleeping through the night does anyone have any advise?
i am having trouble sleeping through the whole night,i wake up at least four times during the night, does anyone have any remedies on getting a good nights sleep.
A: You can try taking Honey, it can be use as a tranqulizier and a sedative. It works as I have tried it before. Try mixing a spoonful of Honey in Warm water and drink it before bedtime. Do not use HOT water as it will spoilt all the good properties of Honey.

Q: What are the best ways to fall asleep if, you have trouble sleeping?
What makes sleep easier? I have trouble sleeping and am wondering.
A: - Warm milk really does help. I can recommend it. I’m an insomniac, and without that I would literally be a drooling vegetable all day, haha.
- Don’t eat or drink caffeine after 7pm, as that makes your stomach churn and keeps you awake. Not pleasant.
- Write down any worries you have before you go to bed so you don’t spend all night tossing and turning!
- Read a book and listen to music for 10-15 minutes, then switch off the light and try to sleep.
- For every half hour you can’t sleep, put the light on, read for another 5 minutes, then try again. If you just lie there and worry about not sleeping, you won’t sleep.
- Take a hot bath before you go to bed. With lavender if you can get it, as that apparently helps. Don’t take a shower though, the water hitting your skin doesn’t really invoke feelings of fatigue.
Good luck, I know how miserable it is to not be able to sleep.
Q: What to do when having trouble sleeping?
Im 13 and Im having trouble sleeping like I feel tried but just can’t sleep. I have a grandma that passed away 2 years ago and she told sometimes justclose my eyes and pretend Im a sleep and it does work sometimes. Is there any other ways that may help?
A: I close my eyes and think of something comforting. Like a guy on TV cuddling with me as we both are going to sleep or my dad, mom boyfriend or someone else stroking my hair (like someone on TV) and sitting next to me as I fall a Sleep.
This works because you are clearing your mind down to a small thought of something comforting without your mind racing or keeping you from being able to sleep.
Q: Trouble SLEEPING!!!?
It has been a week now, that my parents have gone for their vacation n my sister has shifted to ther room, and now i’m all alone in my room…
For first two days i couldnt sleep cause i ws afaraid of dont know what, but after that, i realised there’s nothing to be afraid of n everything was fine, BUT i aint able to sleep at night, i tried changing places, changing my sleeping postures, n lissen to my i-pod… also study b4 lying down to sleep, write my journal, and also reading book… but nothing worked… Please-please suggest something…
I dont want to beg my self to fall asleep everynight… please …
thank u!!
well, i’m 15 n my sister is 21!!
A: Hmm….
You seem to have tried a lot.
For me what works is typing on a keyboard (or writing). I choose typing over writing because I can do it so much faster. When I can’t sleep its usually because I have something to say or to ‘think’ about but I can’t properly get it out. If you feel you need to say something then type or write it out.
You’ve probably found the whole ‘warm milk’ thing in your search for a fix. Honestly it never worked for me but give it a go if you haven’t already.
How much time do you spend on your bed whilst you are not trying to be asleep? When you sit on your bed to read or to watch tv or to go on the laptop then it changes the mind’s view of the bed from a ’sleeping place’ to a ‘comfortable place’ and it can take some time for it to realise you are trying to sleep.
So if you do spend time in bed when you are trying to stay awake, that could be the problem.
Hope I helped
good luck. That’s what works for me.
Q: I am having trouble sleeping from late June to mid July. What could the problem be?
I have trouble sleeping from 6/20 to 7/10 every year for the past 3 years. I wake up constantly and am sort of light headed. Do you think I have some seasonal sleep problem?
A: I agree. It could be because your hot. Try to get a fan in your room and wear less clothes to bed to cool you off. Also, try drinking a nice ice cold glass of water before bed each night. If all else fails, see your doctor. Maybe you have a seasonal insomnia.
Q: My daughter is having trouble sleeping because of a scary movie?
Over the weekend, my daughter, who is 7, was at her dad’s who decided it was a good judgement to let her (and her brothers) watch “A Nightmare on Elm St” on TV. Since she came home on Sunday, she has had trouble sleeping, getting to sleep and then waking up screaming in the middle of the night. I have tried talking to her about how it wasn’t real, and everything. I have tried talking about happy things, reading funny/happy books, etc. Does anyone have any suggestions?
A: Your daughter has suffered a “trauma.” Even though it isn’t real, it felt real to her. The way to resolve it is to let her talk about the scary movie. The more she talks about it, the less frightening it will be. Ask her to tell you about the movie. The parts that she has trouble talking about are the parts she needs to tell over and over. That is what the nightmares are about…her brain is trying to process the emotions related to the experience. Don’t avoid talking about. Don’t let her avoid it. Don’t tell her it wasn’t real, because that doesn’t matter and will just delay her recovery. Just tell her that talking about the scary movie will help, and let her tell you all the gory details. Don’t correct her, if she gets the parts wrong. It doesn’t matter that she remembers it correctly, it only matters that she talks about what it felt like and what she was afraid of. That will help with the nightmares, too. Have her talk about them. It will probably take about a month for her to get over it. Tell her dad that, the next time, he will get to undo the damage! Good luck. Kerrie Wheeler, LCPC
Q: My doctor put me on synthroid 50mg a week ago and I have trouble sleeping?
I have a lot of trouble sleeping, and I get a headache everyday. If I don’t have a headache, my head at least feels very heavy.
Could synthroid be the cause?
A: Synthroid usually takes a couple weeks for someone to feel a change. There are side effects of Synthroid, and headaches and insomnia are two of them. If this continues, you should let your doctor know.
Q: Do you have trouble sleeping after you masturbate?
Even if I masturbated earlier in the day, I still have trouble sleeping that night. I sleep much better if I don’t masturbate. But I sleep really well when I have sex with my wife.
A: ZZZZZZZ…… ZZZZZZZZ…… ZZZZZZZZZZ
Q: Why am I having so much trouble sleeping?
So for the last few nights it’s been taking me forever to get to sleep. Most of the time it doesn’t take me any longer than ten to fifteen minutes but now it’s taking up to two hours. I’ve tried everything from counting sheep to sleeping pills and nothing works.
Is there any reason why I might be having trouble sleeping? Any tips on helping me get to sleep faster?
During summer I go to bed around eleven or midnight and sleep for around ten to twelve hours, if that matters at all.
A: Caffeine/ sugar?
Stress?
Worrying too much about falling asleep?
There are a couple of things that help me.
Sleepy Time tea, or other tea with chamomile in it
Hot milk- it’s not just an old wife’s tale
Sometimes I try to re-inhabit a pleasant dream I’ve had lately
Sometimes I just get up and do something to shut my brain off like reading or watching T.V.
I confess, I read in bed, too, which often has me nodding off and dropping the book.
Progressive relaxation- tense the muscles in your toes, relax them; tense the muscles in your feet, relax them; tense the muscles in your calves, relax them, all the way on up.
Meditation: concentrate your mind on taking a slow, deep breath, same for your exhale. Other thoughts you are having- pretend they are a river in the background, acknowledge them and let them go; keep doing it- get bored/relaxed, fall asleep. Don’t give up if your thoughts stray- just re-focus on your breathing.
I also meditate by saying the Holy Mary part of the rosary over and over, which is interesting since I’m not Catholic!
Do you feel rested? I find that often I feel better after 6 or 7hours of sleep rather than 12.
Try not to worry about it, maybe your body is saying it needs less sleep now.
Best wishes, I can relate.
Q: I have trouble sleeping tried everything please help?
I have trouble sleeping i have tried almost everything
And i also suffer from severe nightmares
Any sugestions?
A: If you live alone or are very young.
Try and see if you feel that way if you spend a day or two with a friend.
You sound insecure or scared about something .
At Least give a try at a center for people that need help with emotional problems.
Just don’t try and cover up your feelings with drugs or alcohol.
Q: Is it normal to have trouble sleeping at the age of 14?
So I’m 14 and I have lots of trouble sleeping. Even when my eyes are drooping it takes me an hour or more to fall asleep. It’s hard to get to sleep. Also no matter how many hours of sleep i get I always seem to be exhausted and yawn.
A: It is perfectly normal and can depend on many factors. Are you getting enough physical activity, are you getting to much stimulation while falling asleep (tv or radio is on), are you getting too much sleep. There are a number of things that can make it difficult to fall asleep. Talk with your doctor or a school nurse and get some tips for better sleep habits.
Q: Why does my son scream and have trouble sleeping when he gets home from daycare?
My son loved his daycare the first week he went. Then he got sick and missed two weeks. Now he cries when I leave him and although he has been doing better and better everyday he goes to the daycare….he cries and cries when he gets home. He also was having trouble sleeping. He is fine in the car on the way home , but as soon as we go in the door he throws a huge temper tantrum. Any thoughts?
A: How old is he?
Are you 100% sure that he is being properly cared for?
