Q: Does lustral make someone more silence than usual?
Generally i’m not a talkative person. Actually i think that people think that i’m weird because i speak really too little. Now i’ve started to take Lustral and wondering if this is going to make me feel more relaxed and as a result i’ll be completely speechless. However i’m not sure if i can be more silence than i am. Actually the thing is i do have some talkings between few friends or one on one but in a group of people it’s almost none.

A: just be what you should be,do not think too much

Q: How many lustral would need to be taken for the results to be completly fatal?
Its for biology. What would the results be. Kindney failure. etc. and how many 100mg tablets would have to be taken?

A: At least 20. Then its fatal. Anything over 5 or 7 would cause kidney damage and the pain would make you wish it was fatal.

Q: i have been on sertraline lustral for 6 years for my anxiety and OCD?
is there any other meds i can take with the Lustral for my anxiety? im not with a doctor anymore?

A: how can you get your meds if your not with a doctor?

i am on a mix of sertaline and diazipam, although the diazipam is not intended for daily use (only when needed).

but the best thing for anxiety is CBT therapy as it alters your way of thinking and seeing things. this has help me more than any of my medication

Q: How long does sertraline/Lustral/Zoloft take to work?
Can you see effects after just a couple of doses?

I started taking it yesterday and I feel much better, but I don’t know if this is because of the meds or because I was just due a better mood.

A: It takes 2-4 weeks. It takes that time to build up the level in your blood to an effective level. For some it’s less, for other’s it’s more, thus the differences.

You will feel better though, that’s the good news.

And I noticed the same thing the first day I took it. I think it’s more of a placebo effect.

Q: How long does Lustral take to affect body’s chemisty?
My doctor kept increasing the dosage:
First 12.5 mg
Then 25
Then 50
Then 75
Then 100
And now 125.
This happened in 5 weeks. The doctor said it would take 6 weeks for this antidepressant to start working but how will it happen? Will I feel less effect at first then will it increase? or will i feel 125 mg all together?

A: Lustral, (Zoloft/Sertraline) is an SRI that takes time to work in your system. Your doctor is okay increasing your med in small, gradual doses.

You won’t feel the effect “all at once,” SSRI’s don’t work that way. 125mg in one day is rather high, and you should be experiencing some benefits now, although it does take up to six weeks to receive the maximum effect.

Q: im a female on lustral 50mg per day and am experiencing orgasm dysfunction?
any ideas on when this side effect will wear off?

A: Probably never! SERTRALINE: Less serious side effects may include:
decreased sex drive, impotence, or ****difficulty having an orgasm****. See www.drugs.com Credit goes to Opester for this:

“Very common on any of the SSRI’s-Paxil, Prozac, Zoloft, Lexapro, Celexa, Luvox, etc.
You can try a couple things to resolve it:
1) Try Periactin (Cyproheptadine) a few hours prior to having relations-it’s an antihistamine that is generic and inexpensive, but I believe it requires a Rx. It works for some people, but not all. You need about 4mg usually.
2) Ask your doc to add Wellbutrin-it often is prescribed to help with this side effect and is usually effective, but can add some other side effects (like sweating) but not everyone gets side effects.
3) Reduce the dosage or try a drug holiday occasionally, but check with your doc before decreasing.
4) Men can try Yohimbine [*POSSIBLE URINARY TRACT IRRITANT] or Viagra [*OLDER; POSSIBLY RISKIER]/Cialis/*LEVITRA if not otherwise contraindicated.
5) Try another SSRI-not all produce the side effect in every person. You can also try Cymbalta or Effexor which are both combined SSRI/SNRI and tend to diminish this side effect (similar to adding Wellbutrin).
Source(s): Psychotherapist for 20 years – very familiar with this side effect” ~~~ switching to a different antidepressant with a lower reported incidence of sexual dysfunction, such as bupropion or mirtazapine. [ ABOVE MATERIAL IN CAPITALISATION IS MINE].

As it turns out, this universally loved melon has health benefits as well, and it won’t break the bank. Like berries, watermelon is loaded with phytochemicals, including lycopene, beta-carotene, and citrulline. When citrulline is consumed, it is converted to arginine. Arginine is an amino acid that has beneficial effects on the heart and circulatory system, as well as the immune system. Arginine boosts nitric oxide, which relaxes blood vessels, leading to another beneficial side benefit of watermelon … a Viagra-like effect without the hazards of a toxic drug! Watermelon — an aphrodisiac? Who knew?Arginine also helps the urea cycle by removing ammonia and other toxic compounds from your body. ~~~ More tips about natural treatments may be found in the first 3 pages of section 2, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris then see pages R, & V – WOMEN TO WOMEN, etc.

Q: Are remeron and lustral over the counter or prescribed drugs?

A: Prescribed

Q: How Long Does Lustral Sertraline Drug take to leave the System after using them for 8 Months?

A: www.google.com has a great deal of information that you could use to find your answers , while yahoo answer is more likely to be better for people’s opinions.. thanks.

Q: is there a difference between zoloft / lustral and the generic form?
i have heard the brand name version is more effective. im currently on the generic form of sertraline and it is not working well after 5 weeks so was thinking of asking for the brand name. im on 100mg.

A: There isn’t really a difference between generic medications and brand name ones – the active ingredients are the same, and they’re often made in the same factory, just packaged into different boxes. The main difference is how much it costs – brand name is usually more expensive. However, if you have these concerns, you should talk to your doctor about it, he/she will know best. Good luck.

Q: Have you any personal experiences of stopping the medicine Lustral?

A: Yes. You really need the help of a doctor to come off any antidepressant meds including Lustral. DO NOT reduce your dose yourself, but go and discuss with your doctor what is the best way to reduce the dose gradually. This way, you can avoid any withdrawal, and you can be monitored to see whether your symptoms get worse.
Good luck

Q: Can i buy Selective Seratonin Re-uptake Inhibitors,Cipramil or Lustral over the counter??
Where can i buy???

A: No. you need a prescription for those.

Q: Effects of alcohol when taking the anti-depressant Lustral?

A: alcohol is a depressant so dont do it.

Q: Have you experienced any side effects while taking Lustral/sertraline?

A: I was put on Sertraline when I was first diagnosed with depression. I was lucky enough not to suffer any side effect, other than the dizzy/sickness in the first couple of days whilst my body got used to it.

I have been on various other meds since then and with regard to side effects I would say sertraline was the one with the least. But at the end of the day it is what works best for you. I have just had Zispin added to my concoction and am worried about side effects of that because I have heard of people putting loads of weight on. But I will give it a go because I have never had that side effect with any of the others.

If you are encountering side effects that you cannot deal with you need to speak to your GP/Psychiatrist and see what else they can offer. There are loads of different anti-depressants out there, it just takes time to find the right one for the individual.

Good luck with it. Take care.

Q: Has anyone become depressed again while still taking sertraline lustral antidepressants?

A: I’ve been taking this medication for around two years, and yes, there have been times where the dose has had to be increased. As far as I can gather, Sertraline is a milder anti-depressant. Speak to your doctor or psychiatrist about maybe upping your dose, or changing to a different drug.

Q: should you take Nitrazepam sleeping tablets with lustral?

A: I’ve just done a quick search for lustral, but can’t find a drug by that name. Could you possibly mean lustra?

If this is the drug you mean, click on the link below and see what it says. The site itself (http://www.drugs.com) is a brilliant one for checking out any questions you might have on any drug.
